Royal Flying Doctor Service – Friends in the UK Gala Dinner 2016

Felix&Friends again working with RFDS for their Gala fundraising event 2016

Felix&Friends are very happy to again be working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service – Friends in the UK on their 2016 Gala fundraising event.

Felix&Friends have already delivered the new concept and design for the event – one that represents the stars in the night sky as each of the Royal Flying Doctor Service team. The constellation of stars form an RFDS plane – the icon for this year’s event.

As well as the new design, Felix&Friends will be delivering all aspects of print and digital media required for such a large event. The event will be hosted at The Jumeirah Carlton Tower in Knightsbridge on Thursday October 20 with Australian entertainer Rhonda Burchmore performing.

The Friends of the Flying Doctor Gala Dinner 2016 raised another £110,000 of much needed funds for the charity thanks to the guests, patrons, donors at the event.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides vital 24 hour emergency cover, and clinical and preventative health services across 7.3 million kilometres of Australia’s land mass to almost 300,000 rural and remote patients per year – that’s more than one every two minutes.

Operating continuously since 1928, RFDS doctors and nurses now work from 23 bases across Australia utilising our fleet of 66 fully instrumented aircraft with the very latest technology. Last year, the RFDS flew the equivalent of 34 trips to the moon and back in servicing rural and remote Australia.

The RFDS is a not-for-profit organisation that relies heavily on fundraising and donations from the community to purchase aircraft and fund much-needed medical and aeromedical equipment.

Felix&Friends first worked with the Royal Flying Doctor Service – Friends in the UK, on the 2014 Gala Dinner held at the Imperial War Museum. After the huge success of the event – which raised over £100,000 for the charity, the Royal Flying Doctor Service – Friends in the UK asked Felix&Friends to expand their web presence into a multifaceted portal. The new website now allows the charity to create fundraising events including ticket purchase and donations made directly through the website.

Felix&Friends looks forward to continuing their successful collaboration with The Royal Flying Doctor Service – Friends in the UK.
